International Research Society for Children’s Literature
The IRSCL is the largest body for children’s literature research in the world. It hosts a biennial conference (this year to be hosted in Maastricht, Netherlands) and publishes the journal IRCL.
Children’s Literature Association (ChLA)
An American association that supports an annual conference and the publication of Children’s Literature and Children’s Literature Association Quarterly.
International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY)
An international network of people from more than 70 nations “who are committed to bringing books and children together”. Publishes the journal Bookbird.
CBCA is a volunteer organisation that was established in 1945 and which runs “Book of the Year” awards for children’s literature.
YA Studies Association
The YA Studies Association (YASA) is an international organisation existing to increase the knowledge of, and research on, YA literature, media, and related fields and to encourage the cooperation of specialists, institutions, organisations, and individuals engaging with YA whether through research, teaching, or practice. We welcome scholars and practitioners at all stages and career levels and of any race, ethnicity, religion, class, ability, gender, sex, sexuality, and size.

National Centre for Australian Children’s Literature
The National Centre for Australian Children’s Literature Inc is the premier national institution that collects, documents and promotes Australian children’s literature and ensures this national heritage is publicly available and shared with future generations.
Children’s Literature Research Collection at the State Library of Victoria
The State Library of Victoria holds over 100,000 children’s books, with particular emphasis on Australian children’s books from the past century. The Dromkeen Collection of over 7,500 original artworks and illustrations from children’s books was recently transferred to the SLV.
Children’s Literature Research Collection at the State Library of South Australia
The CLRC at the State Library of South Australia comprises more than 66,000 children’s books from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, primarily from Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
